Enfield 2A .308 NATO rifle question

What is the story about these weapons? I have read that they are a piece of junk, that is waiting to blow up,develops excessive headspace etc.I have also read that these weapons are OK.Which is true?

I bought one from AIM last week. I plan to take it out to the range this Sunday. I'll let you know how it goes.
